The Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) held their Annual Meeting and Luncheon on January 8 at the Powelton Club in Newburgh. The event included a forum discussion with Bob Carter of Carter Companies.  Bob Carter, CFRE, one of the world's most respected, experienced and recognized experts in the areas of Institutional Strategy and Philanthropy, presented insight and interactive dialogue with the attendees.  AFP outgoing President, Melissa McCoy discussed the highlights and accomplishments of the previous year before passing the torch of Presidency to Elizabeth Rowley.

Jan 5 - Associate Director of Membership - Society of Fellows
Summary: The Garden Conservancy (GC) is a national nonprofit headquartered in the Hudson Valley of New York that works to save and share America’s outstanding gardens for the education and inspiration of the public. The Associate Director of Membership – Society of Fellows is responsible for managing and growing all aspects of the Society of Fellows, a high-level membership program (minimum gift level of $1,500), consisting of approximately 300 donors around the country, which is projected to raise more than $900,000 in 2016. The Associate Director will design and implement acquisition strategies and manage the calendar of all mailings, including renewals and lapsed member mailings, using the Raiser’s Edge database. The Associate Director will also design, implement and manage special written and electronic communications to the Fellows, and create and manage cultivation events.
