Erin Cafarelli is the Director of Development and Public Relations at the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie. She is responsible for developing and implementing a robust fundraising plan that increases fundraising revenues by expanding the donor base, engaging more fundraising volunteers and enhancing fundraising programs including; donor stewardship, direct marketing (including publicity and publications), grants and special events.
Prior to joining the Children’s Home, Erin worked as the Development Associate at the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley and as Operations Manager at the Objectivist Center.
A long-time Dutchess County resident, Erin received a BA in History from Marist College and an AA in Liberal Arts and Humanities from Dutchess Community College. She is a 2010 graduate of the Chamber Foundation’s Leadership Dutchess program. In 2011 she received the Forty Under 40 Shaker Award from the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Erin currently serves as President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter, sits on the Professional Development Committee for the Chamber Foundation and is a member of the Junior League of Poughkeepsie, serving in the capacity of Training Coordinator. Erin most recently chaired the 10th annual National Philanthropy Day for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and co-chaired the 6th annual Denim & Diamonds Benefit Gala for the Junior League of Poughkeepsie.
Erin resides in Stanfordville, NY with her fiancé, Erik Morabito and their flock of chickens. Together, they own and operate Java House 82, a coffee and antique store located Stanfordville, NY. Erin enjoys reading, a good cup of coffee, baking, antiquing and exploring small towns.
