Founded in 1981, Mill Street Loft is an award winning not for profit located in the Hudson Valley. As a community-based multi-arts educational center dedicated to merging arts and community needs, we reach out to a diverse population bridging cultural and economic differences. Through our extensive range of programs, we foster self-expression and healing that strengthens a shared sense of community.

The arts-based programming impacts thousands of youth, adults, seniors and families throughout the Hudson Valley. With an operating budget of $870,000, Mill Street Loft relies on individual and corporate donations, membership dues, tuition fees, and grants to fund these programs.

The Dutchess Arts Camp and The Art Institute empower young people to express their ideas and develop their skills. Over the past 16 years, graduates of The Art Institute received more than $39 million in merit-based scholarship offers to attend some of the top art schools and colleges across the nation.  Outreach programs such as Project ABLE, PASWORD, Girls LitClub and Habilidad, use arts-based programming to work with urban teens to develop empowerment, job skills, self-esteem and conflict resolution skills. Arts for Healing uses the creative process as a tool for healing with children who are chronically ill, people with Alzheimer’s disease, and those with developmental disabilities.

Working with the dedicated staff, Board of Directors and volunteer base, the Executive Director will build upon the organization’s solid programming, reputation, and history to advance the organization into the future.
