The panel will explore how Development staff and the Board of Directors can work together to build an effective fundraising team.  Development capacity building - enhancing the knowledge, skills, and comfort of board members in their fundraising roles will be discussed, as will the key considerations of a local foundation’s capacity building grants program from the grantmaker and grantee perspective.

A Day of Giving, also known as a Giving Day, is a 24-hour online fundraising challenge that aims to rally groups of people around a particular region, cause, holiday/event or place of higher education. Giving Days are becoming a very popular and successful fundraising tool for organizations throughout the country.

In this informative panel discussion, learn how to you truly take advantage of these amazing fundraising events to not only bring in donations, but also engage with existing and new donors as well as raise awareness for your cause. Key stakeholders from the inaugural “Hudson Valley Gives” this past May, in which 201 local nonprofits raised over $145,000, provide real-life tips, tools and best practices, including the use of high-quality videos, to help you make the most your next giving day, including NY Gives Day 2016.
